START-UP problems with your RV A/C
and a portable Generator?

We have a solution!

Soft Start, Hard Start or Easy Start - which one do I need?
Soft Start, Easy Start, Quick Start, Sure Start and many more have the same purpose, but manufacturers will use their brand name for it. All of them working similar by reducing the voltage during starting to limit the max ampere draw while trying to maintain a high torque. Each manufacturer has a personal technical approach to solve this tricky task. No question - some brilliant engineers are involved in the design of this sophisticated equipment.
These devices are highly complicated electronics which makes them significantly more expensive than the traditional hard start kit.
Pros:     They got a lot of positive feedback and are very reliable. A good choice if you have a small size portable generator to power your camper Air conditioner.
Cons:     Unfortunately - expensive! Probably needs an electrician for some rather tricky wiring modifications and installation. Some air conditioners have to be converted if they incorporate a Triac switch.

What about the low-priced RV-AC-Starter™
Ever tried to start your A/C on a hot day with a generator that, theoretically, should run your A/C? The generator struggles and goes into overload because he cannot supply the starting current required to start the compressor and the fan motor.
I created the first easy RV Starter in the hot summer of 2012, right before we left for a camping trip to the North Georgia Blue Ridge mountains. We enjoy boondocking on a semi-developed camping place in the National Forest, avoiding the annoying crowd on overloaded spots.
It seems that it gets hotter every summer, even up in the mountains! My wife insisted on getting a portable generator to run our RV AC. I installed our new "genny" in an aluminum box on the back of our camper; everything was looking good.
What a surprise, the overload tripped at the YAMAHA 2000W/2400W inverter generator when we started the AC.
After over 40 years of experience in air appliance and conditioning service, I just could not let it go - period!
I created a prototype RV-AC-Starter, which, after a few tweaks - easy started our rooftop AC with no generator problems.
Now, my wife was ready for the first hot season with our new camper and a working air conditioner (happy wife = happy life...).

What is a RV Hard Start Kit and why do I need one?
First - a few things you should know:
The startup is the hardest time in the life of an RV air conditioner because the unit consumes 4 to 8 times more electrical current than in regular running condition. This power surge lasts just a few seconds until the compressor, and the fan is running with full speed.
If you're on shore power, this is probably not a big problem. But while Dry-Camping or Boondocking, your available power supply is limited.
